Activity #1 -- Traditional Searching and Reading Think-a-loud
For this activity you are going to be asked to do a traditional internet search using one of the topics listed below. After you choose a topic you are going to put your newly obtained screencasting skills to the test when you record your researching process and reading of a website. Basically, you are going to record your thoughts aloud as you research and read about a certain topic.
Step One: Watch the explanatory video below
Step Two: Choose one of the following topics
Step Three: Navigate to your favorite search engine and fire up your Jing.
Step Four: Record a three to five minute video of you researching one of the topics and describing your thought process aloud as you proceed. This process should be your regular search process, don't do anything differently.
Step Five: Share the link to your video with me via email.
